Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about buying a box truck, financing your purchase, and launching your delivery business with Auto Experts.
Buying & Inventory
What types of commercial vehicles do you sell?
We specialize in used commercial box trucks, refrigerated box trucks, cargo vans, and Amazon-ready delivery trucks. Our inventory includes vehicles from top manufacturers including Freightliner, International, Hino, Isuzu, Ford, GMC, Volvo, Kenworth, and Peterbilt, in a range of sizes and configurations to fit your business.
What box truck sizes do you carry?
We stock box trucks in a variety of sizes including 14 ft, 16 ft, 20 ft, 24 ft, and 26 ft load lengths, with both CDL and non-CDL options. We also carry liftgate-equipped models, dock-height trucks, low-cab-forward designs, and refrigerated units. If you have a specific size or configuration in mind, contact us and we'll help you find the right fit.
Do you sell refrigerated box trucks?
Yes. We carry refrigerated box trucks suited for food service, pharmaceutical delivery, floral distribution, and other temperature-sensitive freight. Contact us to ask about current refrigerated inventory and specifications.
Can I customize a truck before purchasing?
Yes. We offer customization options including shelving, refrigeration units, and custom branding and vehicle wraps. Whether you need a truck built to your operational specs or want to add your company logo, we can help coordinate those upgrades.
How often does your inventory change?
Our inventory moves fast and is updated regularly. If you don't see what you're looking for on the site, reach out directly. We may have a truck arriving soon or can source one for you through our nationwide network.
Can I inspect and test drive a truck before buying?
Absolutely. We encourage all buyers to inspect and test drive any vehicle they're considering. Contact us to schedule an appointment at our Chester, NJ location. For out-of-state buyers, we also offer virtual tours and detailed photo documentation (see the Out-of-State Buying section below).
Do you accept trade-ins?
Yes. We accept trade-ins on commercial vehicles including box trucks and cargo vans. Contact us for a free evaluation of your current vehicle, and we'll apply its value toward your next purchase.
Financing & Credit
Do you offer financing for box trucks?
Yes. We work with a network of commercial lenders to offer flexible financing options for a wide range of buyers, from first-time business owners to fleet operators. Whether you have excellent credit or are rebuilding, we'll work to find a loan that fits your situation and budget.
Can I get financing with bad credit?
Yes. We welcome buyers with low to high credit scores. We understand that many entrepreneurs are just getting started and may not have a perfect credit history. Our lending partners specialize in commercial vehicle financing for non-traditional credit profiles, and we'll work hard to get you approved.
Can I finance a box truck without a Social Security Number?
Yes. We offer ITIN-based financing for buyers who do not have a Social Security Number. This makes ownership accessible to a broader range of entrepreneurs, including many in the immigrant business community. Ask us about ITIN financing options when you reach out.
How much does it cost per month to finance a box truck?
Financing payments vary based on the purchase price, your credit profile, loan term, and down payment. Many of our buyers finance trucks for as low as $1,000 per month. By comparison, renting from national fleets like Penske, Ryder, or Enterprise typically costs $1,200 to $1,500 per week. Owning builds equity in your business rather than paying indefinitely for a vehicle you'll never own.
What do I need to apply for financing?
Requirements vary by lender, but typically you'll need a valid government-issued ID, proof of income or business documentation, and basic credit information. Our team will walk you through the process step by step and let you know exactly what's needed for your specific situation.
How long does the financing approval process take?
In many cases we can get you a same-day decision. Once approved, we'll help you complete the paperwork and get your truck delivered as quickly as possible so you can start running your routes.
Amazon DSP / Delivery Business
Do you sell Amazon-ready box trucks?
Yes. We specialize in Amazon-ready box trucks configured to meet Amazon Delivery Service Partner (DSP) requirements. Our trucks are pre-inspected and business-ready from day one, so you can get on the road quickly without the delays of custom builds or the ongoing cost of renting.
What makes a truck "Amazon-ready"?
Amazon-ready trucks meet Amazon's vehicle specifications for DSP contractors, which typically include specific box lengths (16 to 26 ft), liftgate capability for easy loading and unloading, and non-CDL configurations for simpler driver onboarding. Each of our Amazon-ready trucks is hand-selected for reliability, compliance, and performance on daily delivery routes.
Do I need a CDL to drive a box truck for Amazon?
Not necessarily. Many of our box trucks are non-CDL vehicles, meaning they fall under 26,001 lbs Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) and do not require a Commercial Driver's License to operate. This makes driver hiring and onboarding much simpler for DSP operators. We'll help you identify the right non-CDL options for your routes.
Can you help me start an Amazon DSP business from scratch?
Yes. Beyond selling you a truck, we provide full business development support for new DSP operators. This includes helping you set up your LLC, secure your MC and DOT numbers, connect with insurance brokers for competitive rates, and find dispatchers and load boards to keep your trucks earning. We're a one-stop resource for getting your delivery business off the ground.
What's the difference between buying and renting a truck for Amazon deliveries?
Renting from national fleets typically costs $1,200 to $1,500 per week, which adds up to $60,000 to $78,000 per year on a vehicle you'll never own. Financing a truck through Auto Experts can cost as little as $1,000 per month, and at the end of your loan term, you own the asset outright. For DSP operators planning to operate long-term, ownership almost always makes more financial sense.
Business Setup (LLC, DOT & MC Numbers)
Can you help me set up my trucking business legally?
Yes. Our business development team helps new operators navigate the full startup process, from forming your LLC to securing your USDOT number and MC (Motor Carrier) authority. We handle the paperwork and guide you through compliance requirements so you can focus on running your routes.
Do I need an MC number and DOT number to operate?
If you plan to operate commercially across state lines or for hire, you will generally need both a USDOT number (required for vehicles over 10,001 lbs used in interstate commerce) and an MC number (required for for-hire carriers transporting freight). Requirements vary based on your operation type, weight class, and the states you operate in. Our team will help you determine exactly what you need.
Can you help me find commercial truck insurance?
Yes. We work with a network of insurance brokers who specialize in commercial trucking. We'll connect you with brokers who can find competitive rates tailored to your fleet size, operation type, and coverage needs, helping you keep insurance costs manageable as you grow.
Can you help me find loads and dispatchers?
Yes. We connect new truck owners with dispatchers and load boards nationwide, giving you access to freight opportunities and essential business contacts from day one. Whether you're running Amazon routes, last-mile delivery, or general freight, we'll help you build the relationships you need to keep your trucks moving.
Warranties & Inspections
Do your trucks come with a warranty?
Most of our box trucks are sold as-is, which is standard in the commercial vehicle industry. However, we do offer optional extended warranty coverage through trusted third-party providers, with plans available up to 3 years or 200,000 miles. Ask about warranty options when you inquire about a specific vehicle.
Are your trucks DOT-inspected before sale?
Many of our trucks come with recent DOT inspections on record. Inspection status varies by vehicle, so please ask us directly about the specific truck you're interested in. We're transparent about each vehicle's condition and documentation.
Can I have a third-party mechanic inspect a truck before I buy?
Yes, and we encourage it. Having an independent inspection done by a mechanic you trust is a smart step before any commercial vehicle purchase. Contact us to schedule an appointment and we'll make the vehicle available for inspection.
Out-of-State & Nationwide Buying
Do you sell to buyers outside of New Jersey?
Yes. We regularly work with buyers across the United States and have a streamlined process for out-of-state purchases. We handle the paperwork, coordinate delivery logistics, and guide you through every step so the distance is never an obstacle.
How does the buying process work if I can't visit in person?
For remote buyers, we offer virtual truck tours, detailed photo packages, and full maintenance record documentation so you can make a confident buying decision without traveling to New Jersey. Once you're ready to move forward, our team will walk you through financing, title transfer, and delivery coordination entirely remotely.
Do you offer nationwide delivery?
Yes. We coordinate nationwide truck delivery so you can receive your vehicle wherever your business is located. Delivery costs and timelines vary by distance. Contact us for a delivery quote specific to your location.
How do you handle out-of-state title and registration paperwork?
Our team has experience with out-of-state transactions and will guide you through the title transfer and registration process for your home state. We'll make sure you have the correct documentation and know exactly what steps to take to get your truck legally registered and on the road.
